"What a great, relaxing ride. Our little group did everything from an aggressive pace line to enjoying the scenery. We felt comfortable doing both." John M. "We enjoyed the route we went on and will be back next year." "This was my first organized ride of any kind, and I thought it was great fun. The weather couldn't have been better, the people were friendly and helpful. I'd only planned on doing 8 miles, and ended up doing 16. After a rest in the shade at Prospect Park, nice fresh strawberries and cookies, I was good to go. I'll be back next year, no doubt about it. Maybe by then I'll be up to 32!" Sue K. "This was an exceptional tour and I will certainly be back every year possible. Thank you for your hospitality and great atmosphere. I have already recommended this to all the other riders that I know." "This is the first group I ever did- three years ago. Wouldn't miss it, it's always a great ride! Thanks for everyone's hard work!" "This is our favorite organized ride - we look forward to it every year. It's a great route with well spaced rest stops and good food." "This is my third year doing the Hot Tamale ride and I have recruited more riders each year. My sisters and I plan to make this an annual tradition!" "The tour was nicely laid out avoiding traffic, the support people were very friendly and helpful. All-in-all, a very pleasant ride." "The location of the ride was perfect for getting fried bologna sandwiches afterward." "The Hot Tamale is by far my favorite cycling event of the year. It comes at a great time of year...not too cold, and not yet too hot. The route is nice, flat and scenic. Most important, the cookies and strawberries are to die for. Homemade cookies like you've never known. There was even homemade blueberry jam this year. Kudos to the group who organizes this event. They are wonderful cycling enthusiasts who can put on a wonderful event..... oh, and let's not forget the G&R for fried bologna sandwiches after the ride! It may be all about the food after all!!!" "The HOT TAMALE is a fantastic ride for anyone from an novice rider to a veteran rider. The course is very flat which leads to fast times. In addition this offers inexperienced riders the chance to ride farther then what they normally do. I would recommend this ride to everyone. Ed T." "The Hot Tamale has become a tradition for the women in my family. We love the snack stop, the flat course and helpful and energetic staff!" "I think anyone who is thinking about riding an organized ride should consider starting with the hot tamale. The route, the food, and the people who put it on make it one of the most enjoyable rides of the year. Thank you!!!" Rosie M. "I pulled my 8 year old Daughter on a trainer. Great Daddy Daughter time. It was out first ride and it certainly won't be our last." "I have been riding the Hot Tamale for several years and it is always excellent. Thanks to everyone who works to make the tour a success." Carroll V. "I had a great time. You couldn't ask for anything more, weather, ride, friends, food, were all great." Rich "I do about 5 or 6 rides a year and this one has become my favorite for a lot of reasons. Close to home (Delaware), route, food. But mostly it is the wonderful scenery and the great people! I will do this ride every year." Brent S. "Great ride for those of us that don't climb hills." Teresa C. "Easy route, great scenery, the best food around.. how could a cyclist ask for more?" Ron D. "Always a great ride with lovely scenic roads and friendly volunteers and wonderful food." "Always fun to do this ride! Keep up the excellent work!" "One of my favorite rides." "We first participated in the Hot Tamale 10 years ago and always look forward to it. We hope to keep coming for many more years (and we're in our 70's!)" |
